Progressive Missionary Baptist Church was founded with a simple but powerful vision: to create a church where everybody is somebody. From our earliest days in Houston, Texas, we have been a beacon of hope and a home of worship for families across our community.
Through changing seasons and generations, PMBC has remained steadfast in its commitment to biblical teaching, spirit-filled worship, and compassionate outreach. Our history is written in the lives transformed, the families strengthened, and the community served.

Pastor Raymond H. Hillis has served as the Senior Pastor of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church for over two decades, carrying forward the legacy of faith and community established by the church founders. Under his leadership, PMBC has grown into a vibrant, multi-generational congregation known for its welcoming spirit and powerful worship. Pastor Hillis is deeply committed to biblical teaching, community outreach, and equipping believers to walk boldly in their God-given purpose. His messages are marked by practical wisdom, compassionate leadership, and an unwavering dedication to the Gospel.
